Arena Hotel
L Street Address: Moscow, Russia
Location: Fair. Nearest Metro: Sportivnaya Staff Speaks English? I doubt it. Would I Stay Here? No. * A Certain Mistake To Stay Here * The service at the Arena Hotel is not suitable for foreign travellers. In addition, the quality of the facility is also not suitable. The details: Room rates are between 1123 rubles to 2964 rubles. One room has a kitchen. The hotel is located in a fairly nice residential area. There are numerous nearby food kiosks and a nice pedestrian walkway down the middle of a neighborhood park. The hotel lobby is old, dark and depressing. I couldn't see the rooms because the front desk people were out to lunch. They sell beer, drinks, snacks and stuff in the lobby, and there were actually 2 people standing there waiting for the front desk people to come back from lunch so they could buy their snack. There was another employee on duty, in addition to the security guard, but this "wasn't their department." I have seen a lot of hotels in Russia. And I don't think I need to see the rooms in this hotel. I can tell it is not the hotel of a traveller's dreams.
Ark Hotel J +7 (095) 735-6663 www.a-hotel.ru Street Address: b.3, Prospect Vernadskovo 88 - Moscow, Russia
Location: Poor. Nearest Metro: Yugo-Zapadnaya... far away Staff Speaks English? Understands a little. Would I Stay Here? Yes, if I couldn't find anything closer to the center of the city. * Friendly Staff. Unusual Neighborhood. And Way Far Away From The Tourist Sites * The Ark Hotel is located in a dormitory across the driveway from the 7th Floor Hotel. The Ark Hotel features 14 rooms and is 2 years old. Renovation is on-going. The 20th floor has the nicest corridor. It also has a nice little 4 table cafe, which is expected to be air conditioned soon. Surveillance cameras were being installed during my visit. They say it is very safe and very quiet there. I saw room 2012. It was nice. It had an old toilet and bathroom, but it wasn't bad. Another room was fairly large and had a separate bedroom for a child, plus a living room. On the 21rst floor I saw a 2 floor room. That was nice too. Computer rental is possible with them. They were friendly with us. The problem with this hotel and the 7th Floor Hotel is that the location is not at all ideal. If you stay here, you will be going on an expedition into the giant apartment building jungle of suburban southwest Moscow.
