Hotel Tatiana J +7
(095) 721-2520
www.tatiana-hotel.ru
Street Address: 11, Stremyanniy Pereulok - Moscow, Russia Location: Very Good. Located in a residential neighborhood close to a business center, two metro stations and a train station in the central part of the city.
Nearest Metro: Staff Speaks English: Yes. Would I Stay Here? Yes. I met Tatiana, the general manager, who the hotel was also named after. This family also owns the nearby Katerina City Hotel, which was named after a daughter. This family has high standards. The Katerina is a very good hotel and so is this one. Sales and marketing manager Anastasia gave me the grand tour. The Tatiana has 72 rooms and is considered a 4 star hotel, which I believe. While the Katerina has a very modern design theme, the Tatiana Hotel has a classical design them. The hotel features a large 4 story atrium. There is a restaurant and bar on the lobby floor. The rooms are really, really nice. And all the bathrooms have heated floors. You will find no unpleasant surprises here. The staff is customer-oriented and the facility is impressive, very clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Room prices range from 200 to 350 units (as of March 22, 2004). The hotel is tucked away in a mostly residential neighborhood near the train station at Paveletskaya Square, so if you are travelling light and arriving at Domodedovo Airport, you can take the express train from Domodedova (75 rubles) to the train station and walk to the hotel in about 10 minutes or so. An internet cafe, eating places, a supermarket, and offices are in the area. I lived in this neighborhood and I was very comfortable here.
Hotel Teplokod L +7 (095) 459 7188 Street Address: North River Boat Station - Moscow, Russia
Location: In a park, a long walking distance from Leningradskaya Prospect Nearest Metro Station: Rechnoy Vokzal Staff Speaks English? No. Would I Stay Here? No way. If I did, I'd probably suffer brain damage from the fumes. * Worst Odor Of Any Hotel Ever. I Don't Think It's Possible To Find A Stinkier Hotel * There is a horrendous odor in this ship hotel. It smells toxic. And it is all over the ship. I couldn't understand how people working there could tolerate it. The smell is so bad that it stays with you after you leave. The air struck me as being very unhealthy. I strongly advise travellers to not even consider staying here. But if that isn't good enough to sway you... the rooms are extremely small and tight. The showers will spray water all over the toilet, sink and mirror. I saw some mold in one of the rooms I saw. Prices start at 504 rubles and go up to 1512 rubles. But the savings just isn't worth it. It is one of the worst smells I have ever encountered in a hotel.
