Park Hotel AST

Street Address: Bolshaya Filyovskaya Ulitsa, 25 - Moscow, Russia
Location: Fair. Staff Speaks English? No. Would I Stay Here? If I had to stay in this area, then I would much rather stay at the Proton Business Center. * Not As Good As Local Competitor * Beginning in the Fall of 2004 the hotel will add 2 floors. Currently they have 90 rooms. Room cost is currently 1995 to 6390 rubles (as of March 25, 2004). The fifth floor corridor was a bit dark, but modern. Room #520 had numerous cracks in the walls. It was small, but okay. Room 514 had classical Italian furniture. I thought it was unusual. Room 505 had a nice bedroom. Room 402 had a nice bedroom, but the carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced. I thought their changing star sky ceiling in the lobby was interesting. But clearly to me their local competitor "Proton Business Hotel" has a superior facility.
Park Place J +7 (095) 956-5050 www.mbtg.rulppm Street Address: Leninsky Prospect 113/1, D-100 - Moscow, Russia
Location: Very Good Nearest Metro: Staff Speaks English? Yes. Would I Stay Here? Yes. * A Gem. But Far From Tourist Attractions * This is a special find... Park Place has 11 brand new apartments from $150 to $200 a night. And from the apartment there is easy access to the attached mall which is a part of a business complex that has offices of Sun Micosystems. These apartments may be good for families. There is an on-site Montessori School which is staffed by American trained teachers. There is a day care center, nice restaurants, a bank, an Italian food market, a florist, an international newspaper stand and art for sale in the mall area. Security is good here. There are also tennis courts and a fitness center. Other good cafes, bowling and a good movie theater are right across the street. The mall area is big enough to allow for a good walk indoors during the bad weather days. Yet it is also a secure and sort of exclusive mall, so it won't be loaded full of people. Park Place is 14 kilometers from the Kremlin. I didn't have a chance to see the apartments because they are all rented, but the entire complex is so new and nice that the apartments must be good!
