G
& R Hostel
K Street Address: Zelenodolskaya Ulitsa 3, Location: Poor Nearest Metro: Ryazanskij Prospect Staff Speaks English? Yes. Would I Stay Here? No. The hostel simply rents out the worst rooms of the Moskovsko-Oozbeckski Hotel. Yes, they have someone who speaks English in this office. But the location is poor. It's far from a metro and you can get a much better room with better metro access at other places, like the Orekhovo Apartment Hotel.
Intercen Hotel x Foreigners not accepted. +7 (095) 457-5231 Street Address: Leningradskaya Prospect This hotel is owned by the Ministry Of Health and they say they don't take foreigners.
Iris Congress Hotel J +7 (095) 933-0533 www.iris-hotel.ru Street Address: 10 Korovinskoe Shosse- Moscow, Russia
Location: Poor Nearest Metro: Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Staff Speaks English? Yes. Would I Stay Here? Yes. * Good Hotel Built In The Shape Of An Eye! * This is an interesting hotel. The hotel was built at the same time a nearby eye hospital was built. And the hotel is in the shape of an eye! They say the reason why they can't get 5 stars is due to the location. It is in between the city and Sheremetyevo 2 Airport, and there does not appear to be much interesting anywhere near the hotel. The Iris Congress Hotel was updated a few years ago. It has a large 8 floor atrium and you can spit off the balcony walkways on each floor. I guess that sounds a little funny, but I just want to emphasize that each floor has a walkway that encircles the atrium and for people who are afraid of heights, these balcony areas might cause some dizziness. I found it more comfortable to walk near the walls instead of the railing. Everything is air conditioned at Iris Congress Hotel. Rooms have sprinkler systems and the rooms are of very good quality - comfortable rooms. The hotel offers a shuttle service. They say it takes 30 to 40 minutes to drop their guests off in the center of the city, but their shuttle schedule says it takes 55 to 60 minutes (it's a good shuttle service and it runs from 9am till 11pm everyday, plus a little earlier on weekdays). Wifi internet is available in the hotel for free right now (as of April 3, 2004) but there will be a charge for this soon. A giant screen TV is in the lobby which shows the news in the morning. The hotel has a cash machine, a luggage room, a currency exchange office, small gym, small pool, massage room, a place to get a tan and a Russian billiards table. Single rooms start at 190 c.u. and include VAT taxes. A double is 205 c.u.; the suites are 250 c.u. and the Presidential suite is 500. c.u.
