Gazprom Hotel     K     +7 (095) 719-1205

Street Address: Namyotkin Ulitsa, 16 - Moscow, Russia

Gazprom Hotel - Moscow, Russia

Location: It's great if you are doing business with Gazprom. And pretty bad if you want to see Red Square.

Nearest Metro: Kaluzhskaya... it is a far walk, at least 20 minutes.

Staff Speaks English? I don't know?

Would I Stay Here? No.

* Arrogant Hotel Staff *

Maybe you've heard of Gazprom. It is one of Russia's largest companies and this is their Moscow headquarters. Security is strict. They check each vehicle for bombs at the gates. In this very prosperous-looking compound is a hotel, I believe with 72 rooms. Unfortunately, they had a complete bitch in charge at the hotel and she instructed us to come back at 9am the following day. It was a pain in the ass to get there, and I'm not coming back. She treated my assistant with incredible rudeness. I imagine it is a very nice hotel. But if you decide to stay there, be prepared for possibly a difficult time coming and going due to strict security and don't be surprised if the treatment you receive is "soviet old style."

Globus Hotel      K     +7 (095) 286-4189             www.hotelglobus.ru

Street Address: Yaroslavskaya Ulitsa, 17 - Moscow, Russia

Globus Hotel - Moscow, Russia

Location: Very good if you want to go to the exhibition center.

Nearest Metro: VDNKh

Staff Speaks English? I don't think so. Maybe a little.

Would I Stay Here? Yes, in a renovated room, like room 115.

* So-so *

Globus is in the shadow of the Giant Cosmos Hotel (immediately next door). After walking in I saw a security guard and worn Persian rugs in the modern, small lobby. To me, it was strange to see typical Russian padded apartment doors in the hotel.

The first room I saw was #147. It was not bad. It had air conditioning, a jacuzzi, 2 bedrooms with large beds and a living room.

Next I saw room 172. Paint was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. The kitchen was old. This unit had a fair amount of space, but it was beat and a bit old.

Room 170 was musty. A little bit of paint was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. The room had low beds and was a bit old.

As I walked the building, I noticed the tile halls were clean and the lighting was okay. I saw a really big freshwater aquarium in one area.

Room 126 was a bit dated and the carpet needed replacement.

Room 128 had new furniture. The bathroom was okay, but the carpet needed replacement.

Finally at room 115, I came upon a nice, fresh new room. It's brand new, with 2 bedrooms. This room was the nicest and most comfortable I saw at Globus. They said room 116 is the same. They have gated parking.
